Welcome to Healing Hugs Therapy. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our online counselling platform, including all services, content, tools, and technologies (the “Platform”) provided by Healing Hugs Psychological Solutions (Pvt) Ltd (“we”, “our”, or “us”).

By using the Platform, you (“you”, “your”, or “user”) agree to these Terms, along with our [Privacy Policy], [Data Protection Policy], and any other policies published on this website. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please discontinue use of the Platform.

1. Nature of Service and Emergency Disclaimer

Healing Hugs Therapy is a digital mental health platform that connects users with qualified mental health professionals for online counselling services.

Important: This platform is not intended for emergencies. If you are in danger or need urgent help, please contact your local emergency services or crisis hotline immediately.

2. Account Creation and Eligibility

To access our services, you must register for an account and confirm that:

  • You are 18 years or older, or have parental/guardian consent.
  • All registration details are accurate and up to date.
  • You are legally allowed to access mental health services in Sri Lanka.
  • You will keep your account credentials secure and confidential.

We may suspend or terminate accounts in case of misuse or policy violations.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Platform responsibly. You must not:

  • Post or share false, harmful, or illegal content.
  • Attempt to access other users’ accounts or our systems.
  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools.
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity.
  • Disrupt or interfere with the Platform’s operations.

Misuse may lead to suspension or permanent removal from the Platform.

4. Counsellor Relationship & Responsibilities

Healing Hugs provides access to qualified, licensed mental health professionals. However:

  • The relationship is strictly professional.
  • Healing Hugs does not supervise or take responsibility for the clinical advice provided.
  • You are free to switch counsellors at any time.
  • Misconduct or ethical issues must be reported to our support team.

5. Consent to Telehealth Services

By using our services, you consent to receive counselling through video, audio, or messaging tools.
You understand:

  • Telehealth may not replace in-person therapy in all situations.
  • Session quality can be affected by technical issues.
  • Your privacy is protected under our [Data Protection Policy].

6. Payments, Subscriptions & Refunds

Payments are handled through secure third-party providers (“Payment Gateways”). We do not store or process your card details.

You agree to:

  • Pay in advance for individual sessions or packages.
  • Pay any applicable taxes during checkout.
  • Allow charges to your payment method for booked services.

Refunds will be issued only if:

  • A session is cancelled by the counsellor or Healing Hugs Therapy.
  • A technical issue on our end prevents the session.

Cancellations:
Clients must cancel at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule. No-shows or late cancellations are non-refundable.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this website (design, logos, text, graphics, etc.) is owned or licensed by Healing Hugs Therapy.
You may not copy, modify, or reuse any part of it without our written permission.

8. Privacy & Data Protection

We use encryption, secure infrastructure, and strict access control to protect your personal data.

9. Limitation of Liability

  • Platform outages or delays
  • Emotional distress or indirect damages

Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid within the past 12 months.

10. Termination of Use

We may terminate or suspend your account if:

  • You violate our Terms or misuse the Platform.
  • Required by law or legal authority.

You may delete your account anytime. Payments already made will remain subject to our refund policy.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
Any disputes will be resolved through Sri Lankan courts.

12. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify you via email or through the Platform when changes are made. Continued use of the Platform after updates means you accept the revised Terms.
